Senator:
Layla Coyne
Washington DC
Hi, my name is Layla Coyne, and I’m excited to be one of your Freshman Senators on SGA! I grew up on a small farm in Nicaragua, where I learned the value of community. There, when challenges came up, whether a car broke down or a fallen tree, neighbors or passersby came to help. Growing up around this made me realize that many problems could be better solved collectively, and often, it was more fun together.
When I was seven, my family moved to the U.S., and I now call Washington, D.C., home. At Georgetown Day School, I led the robotics and swim teams and served on the Discipline Consultation Committee for three years. There, I learned how to listen, advocate, and work with my peers through difficult moments, making sure their voices were truly heard.
As your Class Senator, I want to bring that same commitment to Colby. I am grateful to be your voice and representation this year and hope that together we can build a community that’s strong, supportive, and thriving.
