Hi! My name is Annie, and I’m originally from Greenville, North Carolina, though I’ve lived in six different states across the southeastern United States, and attended multiple very different high schools. These moves have given me a deep appreciation for new experiences and diverse communities. I’m currently pursuing a double major in biology and art—two fields I’ve been passionate about for as long as I can remember. I also plan to minor in Spanish, as becoming fluent has been a lifelong goal. Outside of academics, I enjoy staying active and creative. I’m an avid runner (as is the rest of my family), and I love arts and crafts, traveling, and watching dinosaur edits on TikTok. Some of my favorite travel experiences have been internships and conservation trips to Spain, Costa Rica, and Thailand. In the future, I hope to study abroad and attend more concerts. I’m really looking forward to getting involved in the campus community and meeting new people. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or just want to connect—my Snapchat is @annefaraa!

Co-President:

Hi! My name is Jacob Ittycheria, and I’m a freshman planning to study Economics and Data Science. I grew up in Austin, Texas, and I’m excited to bring a little bit of that big-school Southern energy to campus. I joined student government because I love the chance to help shape our community and make our grade feel connected and supported. In high school, I served as president of DECA, a business club where I learned how to lead with purpose, work with diverse teams, and tackle big challenges. I also held leadership roles in my high school band and spent many weekends volunteering at my local church, which taught me the value of service and teamwork. Here in college, my goal is to help create a more united class by building events and traditions that bring everyone together and ensure no one feels left out. I’m passionate about solving complex problems, celebrating our hard work, and making sure everyone has a voice. I’m happy to serve and can’t wait to see what this year brings for all of us!

In my free time, I enjoy singing, sailing, playing the piano, reading, and spending time outdoors. Fun fact, this summer I was a sailing instructor! At Colby, I plan to major in English, and I'm considering a minor in Environmental Science or Philosophy. I'm thrilled to work with this great group on the SGA!

Senator:
Atticus Coyne
Washington DC

I was named Atticus after Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird. My mom chose the name not just out of her love for literature, but in the hope I would carry forward his principles of integrity and empathy. I was born in Nicaragua and moved to the US when I was seven. Growing up in DC with my mom, grandmother, and twin sister I attended Georgetown Day School where I rowed crew, co-led the International Student Association, and worked on a Hawksbill Turtle conservation project in Nicaragua. At Colby, I’m walking onto the crew team and plan to major in environmental science and education. As your senator, I want to listen to your voices to become an extension of yours. I look forward to getting to know each of you, building a strong and connected community and making sure our class leaves a legacy we are proud of. Thank you for placing your trust in me. Let’s make it a great year.

Senator:
Layla Coyne
Washington DC

Hi, my name is Layla Coyne, and I’m excited to be one of your Freshman Senators on SGA! I grew up on a small farm in Nicaragua, where I learned the value of community. There, when challenges came up, whether a car broke down or a fallen tree, neighbors or passersby came to help. Growing up around this made me realize that many problems could be better solved collectively, and often, it was more fun together. When I was seven, my family moved to the U.S., and I now call Washington, D.C., home. At Georgetown Day School, I led the robotics and swim teams and served on the Discipline Consultation Committee for three years. There, I learned how to listen, advocate, and work with my peers through difficult moments, making sure their voices were truly heard. As your Class Senator, I want to bring that same commitment to Colby. I am grateful to be your voice and representation this year and hope that together we can build a community that’s strong, supportive, and thriving.

Senator:
Glory Akinremi
Nigeria / Virginia

Hi, my name is Glory Akinremi, and I’m honored to serve as the Class of 2029 Senator. I believe leadership starts with listening, and my goal is to represent the voices of our class while helping to make our years here meaningful and memorable. I am passionate about building community, celebrating student achievements, and creating opportunities that prepare us for the future. Whether it’s organizing events, highlighting student success, or encouraging inclusion, I want every member of our class to feel valued and connected. As senator, I will work hard to keep communication open, ensure your ideas are heard, and advocate for initiatives that strengthen our class spirit. I’m excited to represent you, and I look forward to everything we will accomplish.
