Four years of living with the smartest, most diverse, and multi-talented group of people you’ll ever get to know. It’s every bit as great as the education that you’ll get inside the classroom.
The residential experience is designed to help you make the most of this community and the growth opportunities found within. You’ll live with some of your closest friends—and with students of all ages, backgrounds, opinions, and perspectives.
Trained Community Advisors in your community are there to offer advice, guidance, and support while also providing fun experiences to gather and share. We encourage you to take advantage of this time. Get to know the remarkable people who surround you. Be curious. Make yourself available. Live a life elevated by the company you keep.

Live and learn in the heart of downtown Waterville. Main Street Commons is home to 200 Colby students, faculty, and staff who are deeply engaged in our city, while also serving and supporting a variety of business, civic, and community organizations.
Colby’s 61 Community Advisors (CA) live within the residence halls to help maintain safe, healthy, and respectful communities. Our carefully selected and thoroughly trained CAs support our residents as they thrive in both academics and life by addressing issues before they arise and planning events that promote a strong residential experience.

Student and faculty interaction is central to a vibrant intellectual life on campus. Faculty members who participate in our Faculty-in-Residence Program have the opportunity to cultivate relationships and stimulate intellectual growth with students beyond just the classroom experience.
Colby wouldn’t be Colby without our neighbors in Waterville. Just down Mayflower Hill, our hometown city provides an easy outlet for dinner and a movie with friends, shopping at many major national retailers, one-on-one mentoring with local children, and internships with community organizations. Ten minutes from campus, the Quarry Road Recreation Area offers hiking, biking, and skiing trails. On the horizon: a downtown residence hall with a civic engagement focus that will make it even easier for interested students to combine learning with community partnerships.
